There are two elements that a person must consider before buying skins; the first is functionality and the next is the form.

The answer to the above question depends on which one of these elements you weigh more.

If you view functionality as the bigger reason for you to buy skins, then you might go for cheaper versions of the skins. Why buy a $39.95 skin when we can get it for $7.95? Skins that protect laptops are good skins. But cheaper skins may use low quality materials, hence short lifespan. Maybe investing a bit more in quality might be a good idea, rather than always changing skins that may result in higher accumulative cost.

How about if you go for the next element – form? Laptop owners nowadays are viewing skins as part of fashion accessories. You can find cheap and beautiful skins in the market. But if you pay a bit more, you can surely get a much better looking and extraordinary designs. If you want to show-off, perhaps you should consider a much expensive skin. You can also be sure that the quality of the designs is better than the cheaper ones.

So the debate whether laptop skins are cheap or not, depends on the laptop owner. If you feel the money you spend is worth it, then the question whether a skin is cheap or not does not matter. But if you’re Ebenezer Scrooge, well then, even a dollar is too much.
